Monthly League Board meetings will be held at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month, unless otherwise indicated.

Monthly Program Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. at the Elmhurst Public Library, unless otherwise indicated.

The general public is invited to participate in all calendar items in BLUE.

Join the LWV of Wheaton, the LWV of Roselle-Bloomingdale, and the LWV of Elmhurst for Heroin: The Human Story, at the Wheaton Park District Community Center, 1777 S. Blanchard Rd, Wheaton. "Meet and Greet", 7:00PM. Program will begin at 7:30PM.

The invited speaker is Felicia Miceli, whose 24 year old son, Louis, became a statistic of heroin overdose in 2012. Felicia is an activist and an advocate, started the LTM Foundation, and strives to prevent the spread of addiction by education and awareness programs. Felicia was an original member of the DuPage County Heroin Task Force, and she works with other advocacy groups lobbying for life-saving legislation.

LWV Elmhurst General Meeting
Train Transporting Hazardous Substances -- Join the League of Women Voters of Elmhurst on December 3rd at 7:00 pm at the Elmhurst Public Library, 125 S. Prospect Ave., Elmhurst, for a discussion about hazardous materials being transported via rail through our yards, schools and playgrounds. Gerri Songer, a member of the Sierra Club Woods and Wetlands Group and contact for Energy Transport and Infrastructure, will outline the need for better regulations and more safety measures.
