Monthly League Board meetings will be held at 7 p.m. on the second Thursday of the month, unless otherwise indicated.

Monthly Program Meetings will be held at 7 p.m. at the Elmhurst Public Library, unless otherwise indicated.

The general public is invited to participate in all calendar items in BLUE.

Cool Cities presents Sustainable Stormwater Solutions for Homeowners: Jim Kleinwachter, Land Protection Specialist and Conservation@Home Program Manager for The Conservation Foundation, will discuss ways for homeowners to reduce the collection of stormwater on their property in order to help alleviate flooding, and support the health of our environment. Other topics include Rain Gardens, Rain Barrels, Permeable Pavement, Cisterns & Bioswales.

Public is welcome and encouraged to attend. No advance registration required.

Charter School Study Group
at the home of Jan Dorner
At the 2013 LWVIL State Convention in Bloomington, Illinois, delegates approved a study to update its position on charter schools during the 2013-2015 biennium. LWVIL's current position on charter schools dates to 2001. Local Leagues are now engaging in research on the topic as well as determining the steps to take to reach consensus on the study. All materials relevant to the study are on the State League's website at http://www.lwvil.org/charter-schools.html.

League of Women Voters of Glen Ellyn's annual Summer Wine & Cheese Event. Gail Kalinich, the featured speaker, will share some of her experiences as an international election observer. She most recently observed the election in Ukraine.

The event will be at the Village Links, 485 Winchell Way, Glen Ellyn.
